We’ve got big news! We’re thrilled to introduce you to our latest senior hire and newest member of the Zodeq team, Sales Director, David Vizard. We sat down with David to find out more about him and his role.
Can you tell us about your career to date?
Since leaving college at 18, I have spent my entire career within the recruitment finance sector.
Back in 1996, I got a temp job in an office matching timesheets to invoices before moving onto manually processing payroll for recruitment companies. In 1998 I moved into sales, working as sales support for my then MD at a business providing finance and back office support to recruiters. I convinced him to let me go on the road and this led me to becoming Sales Manager in 1999. I never looked back and became Sales Director of the same business at the age of 23.
Over the years, I have gathered extensive knowledge of the recruitment finance sector and how to help agencies. I have talked with thousands of recruiters who either wanted to set up on their own or accelerate the growth of their existing business. It’s a case of understanding exactly what it is they want to do and why, or what their problems are and the impact it is having on their business, then offering the right solution to help.
It’s been great to see how successful customers have gone on to become, and I’m looking forward to seeing this even more now I am at Zodeq.
What was the decision behind your move to Zodeq?
It’s a new challenge for me. Even though I have been in the business for 25 years, I am always looking for ways to grow and learn new things in the recruitment finance market.
The industry is extremely fast paced and always evolving. Over the last few years, we have seen an increase in the number of vendors, RPOs and MSPs coming into the market and customers want to be able to take advantage of these opportunities, as well as the contracts that they win directly with a client, otherwise they risk losing out to competition.
Working with Zodeq means that I can offer this flexibility in funding to my customers and in turn, they can look to supply into these types of contracts, creating additional fee income streams rather than having to turn away business. I can help solve more problems for recruiters and help them accelerate their growth, becoming more efficient and profitable too. And with Zodeq offering specific support for recruitment sectors, including healthcare, technology, and education, this means I can bring further flexibility and offer bespoke support to my customers.
In addition to flexible funding, the concept of Zodeq360, our comprehensive back office support solution for recruiters, was also a big draw for me. It truly is a full lifecycle solution for recruiters from startup to SME and I’m excited to introduce it to my customers and watch how it transforms their businesses.
What will you be bringing to the team at Zodeq?
In addition to over 25 years’ sales experience in the niche sector of recruitment finance, I’ll be bringing my own unique approach to help recruiters secure the right financial and back office support for their business so that they can capitalise on all opportunities for growth.
I have a real understanding of the sector and the challenges faced by recruiters, whether they are looking to start their own business, grow their existing company, diversify in sector, from temps to perms, or perms to temps and make supply into foreign countries.
What are most looking forward to in your new role?
Getting to know my new colleagues and becoming part of a new team, but also working closely with Paul Cooney. His experience in the invoice finance industry is unrivalled and I’m ready to learn all I can from him. Working together brings exciting possibilities and I’m looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to be pushed out of my comfort zone.
But mostly, I’m looking forward to having the ability to solve more problems and challenges faced by recruiters, ultimately supporting them all as new Zodeq customers. Zodeq has ambitious plans for the future, and I am looking forward to bringing a fresh approach and big ideas to the business.
