For a number of industries, the weeks leading up to Christmas see a significant slowdown as they prepare to close for the festive break. However, for the Zodeq team, the run up to the festive season is one of our busiest times of year.
Our December sees us ensuring our clients have everything in place to maintain cash flow throughout the Christmas period and into the New Year, as well as taking care of all back office administration task that may have otherwise gone untouched until January. Ultimately we want to make sure that clients are able to return to work in January without the added burden of cash flow worries or administrative backlogs.
What can your business do on the run up to the festive season to enable you to hit the ground running come 2023?
Organisation is key
For many businesses December is a shorter working month and therefore organisation is vital. Make sure your invoices are sent as soon as possible and that they’re accurate!
If sent promptly, your invoice will have a much better chance of being processed by your client prior to their Christmas closure. To further increase your chances, a gentle reminder for those invoices that will fall due during the Christmas break may encourage your customers to pay early.
Plan accordingly
Despite your best efforts, you should plan for your cash flow to be impacted slightly over Christmas. Be realistic with what you expect to come in from clients and make sure you have a plan in place for January to make sure you’re able to chase your clients as soon as possible.
